Meet your tour guide and start today’s drive of 460 km south of Addis Ababa to Arba Minch. The first place of visit is the unique still functional church of Adadi Mariam which was carved out of a single piece of rock in the 13th Century AD.

Stop At: Tiya World Heritage Site, Tiya Ethiopia
Next, discover the grave site of the Steles of Tiya (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Here you will see about 40 stone grave markers decorated with carvings and erected in the 14th Century AD.

Day 2: Arba Minch – Dorze Tribe – Chamo Lake – Arba Minch

Stop At: Dorze Village, Arba Minch Ethiopia
After breakfast, drive for an hour to Chencha where you will experience the Dorze Tribe culture by visiting their huge bamboo huts, learning how the Dorze people prepare their bread and porridge from the root of Enset (False Banana Tree).

Day 3 Hamdella to Mekele via Dallol

Today you will see the famous landscape formed via volcanic eruptions. Excursion to Dallol (116 meter below sea level, one of the lowest places and the hottest in the world) is found 20 Km north from Hamedela, where great warts of twisted sulphur and iron oxide paint a yellow land scape of sulphur springs. It is where Afar people hack blocks of salt out of the ground and the camel caravans load up here. After witnessing this you can proceed to your base town Mekele.  Overnight: Mekele

Lalibela is most famous for its churches. Visit the 12-13th century Rock Hewn churches called the Eighth wonder of the world which are still active places of worship and host many major religious Ceremonies. The churches are carved out of solid rock, and each has unique architectural features. Take a wander through the tunnels and stairways linking the churches together.

Drive to the site where we find a concentration of some of Ethiopians most famous Rock Hewn churches, mostly referred by many as the living wonders of the world, this churches are, they have been here for at list 900 years, an active christen shrine, the spiritual center of the counters religious life. The monolithic churches where carved out of 2600-sq natural rock terrace in the twelve century AD by king lalibela.

BeteMedhanialem, the largest monolithic Rock hewn churches of the world, Magers 37.7 ft in Height, covers an area of almost 2625 Square ft and has walls that are up to 6 feet thick. A plain building supported by 36 pillars on the inside and anther 38 pillars around the outside. Bjte Medhanialem modeled on the original st.Merryzion church build by king Ezana in 4th century at axum.

 

The Rock hewn churchs that we will visit today before lunch will be the first group of churches included: Bete Medhanialem, Bete Mariam, BeteMeskel, BeteDenagl and BeteGolo gota Michal

After lunch  we will continue our journey in  To Ethiopians long and marvellous past with a visit to other king Lalibela  Remarkable churches. There architecture and artistry must be seen to be believed.

The Rock Hewn Churches that we will visit this afternoon the second group of churches and St, Gorge it included: BeteGebral, BeteMerquros, BeteEmanule, Betelehiam ,Bete Aba Libanos and BeteGhiorgis .

 Once we finished visiting the second group of churches and we will walk to the village so the complex bewildering labyrinth of underground Tunnels to the monastery where the monks and nuns live.  then we will drop you at your interested location
